Accessing Twitter Ad Accounts

Logging In

  • To create a new Twitter Ads campaign or manage your existing ones, log in to your personal Twitter account.
  • Click on the gear icon on the right side of the toolbar to open the dropdown menu and select Twitter Ads.
  • If you are not already logged into Twitter Ads, you will need to enter the username and password for the advertising account you want to access.
    • Note: enter the advertiser username without the “@” sign..
  • If you haven’t created your first campaign yet, click Get started to create your first Twitter Ads campaigns.

Multi- User Login

  • When more than one person is assigned to the same Twitter ad account, they can be granted different levels of access.  Each user will log in with his or her own username and and will be able to access the advertising accounts to which they have access.
  • The ad accounts handle will become the account administrator. So whoever is logged in through the company, will be the only one who can grant these varying levels of access to other members of the ad accounts team.
    • The option to access and manage your accounts is available in the drop-down menu that appears when the account is clicked.
    • To give access to a new member or to change someones level of access, login as the account administrator, find the account dropdown and select the Edit access to account option.

  • To add more members to your ad accounts team, click the Add more users… button.
    • Enter the personal handle (@username) of the new member and indicate their level of access.
      • Levels of access go by Account Administrator, Ad Manager or Analyst.

  • These roles are defined as follows:
    • Account Administrator: full access to ads.twitter.com. They can create new account administrators and ad managers, edit account access for administrators and ad managers, make changes to all campaigns and view performance data. Account administrators cannot post organic tweets but have the ability to create promoted-only (limited delivery) Tweets.
    • Ad Manager: Member can access ads.twitter.com and make changes to campaigns and view performance data.  Ad managers cannot create new accounts or post organic tweets but have the ability to create promoted-only (limited delivery) Tweets.
    • Analyst: User can access analytics.twitter.com and view analytics, but does not have access to (paid) campaigns.
  • Next, choose whether you would like to allow this user to create limited delivery (Promoted- only) Tweets for use in campaigns.

  • After selecting the appropriate a role and clicking save, users will have access to the advertiser’s dashboards on ads.twitter.comanalytics.twitter.com, or Twitter Ads Companion.
  • Only users whose Tweets are used in campaigns and Account Administrators/Ad Managers with the promoted-only Tweet permissions will be able to create promoted Tweets from ads.twitter.com. For all other levels of access, Tweeting will be be disabled.

Extra Protips

  • If a user only has access to one account, the default account will automatically display. If the user has access to more than one ads account at any level, they can select which account to use by clicking on the account name in the upper-right corner and choosing “Switch accounts” from the drop-down menu.
  • If a promotable user is protected, no user will be able to see his or her tweets.
